The ongoing Students’ Week celebration at Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka has transformed the campus into a vibrant hub of entertainment, sports, cultural displays, and social activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds of students have been participating in events organized by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), creating an atmosphere of excitement across the university community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university’s academic calendar also schedules Student Week close to the end of the second semester lecture period. Activities lined up for the celebration include costume day, talent showcases, cultural performances, debates, concerts, MTN shows and various recreational competitions aimed at promoting unity and strengthening relationships among students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the festive atmosphere, concerns have emerged over the impact of the celebration on academics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With tests, continuous assessments, and examinations approaching, some lecturers and students fear that the busy schedule could reduce study time and affect classroom attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who spend most of their time attending events may struggle to adequately prepare for assessments if they fail to balance entertainment with their academic responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even while we live in a world whereby the serious and unserious thrives, it all depends on the category one decides to choose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several students, however, believe the celebration offers a necessary break from academic pressure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Partaking in the Student Week is never a problem, but as students, we need to strategize by making efficient utilization of our time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowing what to do at the right time with order of preference and priority”, said Susan, a student of Delsu, after a certain interview. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proper time management has been the major struggle for students academically which play a huge role in their academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University authorities and student leaders have continued to encourage students to participate responsibly, reminding them that while Student Week is an important part of campus life, academic success remains the primary purpose of their stay at the institution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the celebrations continue, many students are expected to enjoy the remaining activities while preparing for the examinations that will determine the outcome of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
