Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, is taking steps to address several concerns raised by students as the institution continues to embark on development projects aimed at improving learning and campus life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to information obtained from the Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Office, some of the major complaints frequently received from students include inadequate electricity supply, insufficient classroom facilities, obsolete laboratory equipment, poor accommodation, unreliable internet services, and aging infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the administration\u2019s efforts to address these challenges, Mrs. Lucy Enaohwo, Principal Assistant Registrar in the Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Office, explained that the university is pursuing public-private partnerships to facilitate the construction and renovation of classrooms, hostels, laboratories, and solar-powered facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She noted that the initiative forms part of the university\u2019s commitment to providing a more conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enaohwo further disclosed that several projects are currently underway across the institution. These include the renovation of lecture theatres, expansion of fibre-optic internet infrastructure, and the construction of facilities for the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The renovation of lecture theatres is expected to improve students\u2019 learning experience, while the expansion of fibre-optic internet access is aimed at enhancing connectivity for academic activities on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accommodation remains one of the major concerns among students, especially with increasing enrolment. The university management, however, maintains that efforts are being made to improve infrastructure and address students\u2019 welfare needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the ongoing projects, Mrs. Lucy revealed that plans are in place to introduce new academic programmes and additional facilities as part of the institution\u2019s broader development agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The university administration expressed optimism that the ongoing reforms and infrastructure projects would contribute significantly to improving the quality of education and overall student experience at Delta State University, Abraka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
