As Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 general elections, many citizens have continued to express concern over the rising insecurity in the country and how it may affect the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The issue of insecurity has remained a major challenge in Nigeria, with cases of kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, and attacks on communities increasing in different parts of the country. This has raised questions among Nigerians about the safety of voters and the credibility of the coming election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the matter, Favour Idoghor, a student from the Department of Agricultural Economics, said insecurity could discourage many people from participating in the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, the government must take serious steps to improve security before the election to ensure citizens can vote without fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also sharing his opinion, Abdullali Omosii from the Faculty of Social Sciences said insecurity has become one of the biggest problems facing Nigeria and may influence the choice of leaders in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that many Nigerians now see security as a major factor in selecting political candidates, adding that leaders must focus on protecting lives and property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A resident of Abraka who simply identified herself as Blessings also expressed worries over the situation, noting that insecurity affects daily activities and businesses, and if not properly addressed, it may lead to low voter turnout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The respondents called on the government, security agencies, and political leaders to work together in tackling insecurity before the election period begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many Nigerians hope that the 2027 election will bring leaders who can provide lasting solutions to the nation\u2019s security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is coming just as students and residents of Abraka, Delta State, have raised serious concerns about the increasing incidents of kidnapping and insecurity within the university community, urging security agencies and government authorities to take immediate and decisive action.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concerns come amid a series of reported kidnapping incidents that have created fear among residents and students of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent protests by youths and community members highlighted the growing frustration over the security situation in the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
