They appealed to landlords and caretakers to consider the financial challenges faced by students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I exact quote from a student you interviewed said (joy) a (200)student of (mass communication)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another student, (femu) noted that although the cost of living has generally increased, tenants expect improvements in facilities such as water supply, electricity, drainage and security whenever rents are reviewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When contacted, ( Caretaker\/Landlord)explained that the increase was due to rising costs of building maintenance, repairs and other expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Insert the caretaker&#8217;s exact response) the caretaker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of the community urged both landlords and tenants to maintain open communication whenever rent reviews are being considered, while students called for reasonable increases and better living conditions in hostels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue of housing affordability remains a major concern for many students living off campus in Abraka, with stakeholders calling for balanced solutions that consider both property owners&#8217; costs and students&#8217; financial realities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Osarenkhoe Tosayemwenre Silver Students living in off-campus hostels in Abraka have expressed concern over recent increases in house rents by some landlords and caretakers, saying the rising cost of accommodation is placing additional financial pressure on them.
