The Living Faith Church (L.F.C.), Ekrejeta, Abraka, has called on students of Delta State University (DELSU) to take an active role in Nigeria’s democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participating in the ongoing biometric capture exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appeal was made during a church service where students were encouraged to see voter registration as a civic responsibility and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development through the ballot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church leaders emphasized that young people make up a significant portion of Nigeria’s population and therefore have the capacity to influence governance and public policy by exercising their right to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They urged students not to remain indifferent to electoral processes but to register and prepare to participate in future elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the awareness campaign, the church also circulated a notice informing students that the current PVC biometric capture exercise is available for individuals who are willing to select Campus 3 as their designated polling unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The notice reads: \u201cStudents intending to participate in the PVC biometric capture exercise should note that the exercise is currently for individuals willing to choose Campus 3 as their polling unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlease take this into consideration before attending. Stay informed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour vote, your choice\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative, supported by the MNGA Initiative, seeks to increase political awareness among students and encourage wider participation in the electoral process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several students welcomed the campaign, describing it as timely and necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They noted that many undergraduates are eligible to vote but have yet to obtain their PVCs due to lack of information or uncertainty about the registration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some students said the church’s intervention would help bridge the information gap and encourage more young people to register before future elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others added that choosing a polling unit close to campus would make it easier for students to vote while school is in session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the church’s PVC awareness campaign is aimed at enlightening the public on the importance of obtaining Permanent Voter Cards, stressing that active participation in elections is essential to building a better Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, Everybody must be involved in the democratic process to make our voices count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Observers say faith-based organizations continue to play an important role in promoting civic education by encouraging responsible citizenship beyond spiritual activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By advocating voter registration, churches and other community institutions contribute to strengthening democratic participation among young Nigerians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With thousands of students residing in Abraka during the academic session, stakeholders believe increased PVC registration within the university community could improve youth representation in elections and foster greater accountability from elected leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
