The Delta State University (DELSU) Student Union Government (SUG) has concluded preparations for the grand finale of the 2026 Mr and Miss DELSU Pageantry and has called on vendors and business owners to showcase their products and services at the event scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few weeks ago, the SUG released fliers inviting interested students to participate in the pageant. According to the fliers, the theme of this year’s event is “Step Into the Spotlight.”<\/strong> The competition has progressed through registration, screening, and voting stages and is now set for its grand finale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contestants have showcased their talents and confidence on the runway, with the best emerging as finalists to compete for the prestigious Mr and Miss DELSU crowns. Organisers noted that contestants are being judged not only on their appearance and fashion sense but also on their confidence, charisma, intelligence, and talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As anticipation builds, many students are eager to see who will emerge as the new faces of DELSU, with finalists including friends, roommates, coursemates, and colleagues from different faculties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition was open to students across all faculties and departments, giving every eligible student an equal opportunity to participate. With the contestants now set for the finale, the Student Union Government has shifted its attention to encouraging vendors and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the SUG, the pageant will also serve as a platform to showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of DELSU students. With the rising cost of living in Nigeria, many students now operate small businesses to support themselves financially rather than relying solely on their parents or sponsors. The event will provide vendors with an opportunity to promote their businesses to thousands of students, guests, and other attendees, helping them gain visibility and expand their customer base beyond the university community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although vendors will not compete for prizes like the pageant contestants, they will enjoy direct access to a large audience to promote their brands. Other benefits include increased brand visibility, improved customer engagement, greater sales opportunities, and public recognition during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grand finale is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026<\/strong>, at the Civic Centre, Campus III, Delta State University, Abraka<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Student Union Government stated that vendor slots are limited and urged interested business owners to register early before all spaces are filled.
