{"id":1709,"date":"2026-07-15T16:14:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T15:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=1709"},"modified":"2026-07-15T16:14:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T15:14:06","slug":"creative-summit-highlights-ais-growing-influence-on-content-creation-and-digital-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=1709","title":{"rendered":"Creative Summit Highlights AI\u2019s Growing Influence on Content Creation and Digital Skills"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Edwin Obamwonyi Asemota<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students, lecturers, content creators and technology enthusiasts gathered at the 1000-Seater Hall, Faculty of Management Sciences, Site 3, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, for a Creative Summit focused on the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on content creation and digital innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The summit, themed <strong>\u201cAI X Content Creation,\u201d<\/strong> explored the role of artificial intelligence in communication, education, media and the future of work. The programme was organised by the Offices of the Director of Information and the Director of Socials of the Students\u2019 Union Government (SUG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants listened to presentations on how emerging technologies are transforming different sectors and creating new opportunities for students and professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the keynote speakers, Mr. Adebayo Ajayi, said science and technology continue to influence everyday life by improving areas such as communication, healthcare, agriculture, banking, education and business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He described artificial intelligence as one of the fastest-growing technologies globally, explaining that AI enables digital systems to analyse information, identify patterns, solve problems and support decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Ajayi encouraged students to embrace technological advancement rather than fear it, noting that innovation creates opportunities for those who are willing to acquire relevant skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on the theme of the summit, he explained that professionals in journalism, writing, filmmaking, photography, design and social media management now use AI tools to generate ideas, edit content, conduct research and improve productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He, however, stressed that artificial intelligence should serve as a support tool for human creativity and should not replace originality, ethics and critical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The speaker advised students to develop practical digital skills while in school, including content creation, graphic design, digital marketing, video editing and programming. According to him, these skills would improve their career opportunities after graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also warned against the misuse of AI, identifying issues such as misinformation, plagiarism, cybercrime and privacy violations as major concerns. He urged students to verify information before publishing and to adopt responsible technology practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking after the event, Osagie, a 100-level Computer Science student of DELSU, described the summit as informative and inspiring.
