Students of Delta State University (DELSU), Campus III, have welcomed the ongoing renovation of the 750-Seater and 1000-Seater lecture halls, describing the project as a significant step toward improving the quality of teaching and learning within the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovation, which recently commenced, is aimed at restoring the ageing lecture halls after years of deterioration caused by constant use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project includes repainting the buildings, repairing damaged roofs and ceilings, replacing broken windows and doors, installing new electrical fittings, fixing faulty lighting systems, renovating damaged seats, and improving the surrounding environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a visit to the project site, construction workers were observed carrying out various renovation activities. While some painted the walls, others worked on roofing, electrical installations, and the repair of damaged sections of the buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction materials and equipment were also seen around the lecture halls, indicating that work was progressing steadily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many students expressed delight at the development, noting that the lecture halls had become increasingly uncomfortable due to broken chairs, poor ventilation, leaking roofs during the rainy season, and inadequate lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They believe the renovation will provide a more conducive learning environment, improve concentration during lectures, and enhance the overall academic experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 300-level student, who preferred to remain anonymous, described the renovation as long overdue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The condition of these lecture halls has been poor for several sessions. During large classes, it becomes very uncomfortable because of broken seats, poor ventilation, and sometimes leaking roofs. This renovation is something students have been hoping for, and we’re happy it’s finally happening.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some lecturers also commended the project, stating that improved learning facilities would enhance teaching effectiveness and create a more productive academic atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to them, modern, well-maintained lecture halls encourage active student participation and contribute to better learning outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While applauding the initiative, students appealed to the university management and contractors to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe to minimize disruptions to academic activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also emphasized the importance of regular maintenance after completion to preserve the facilities and prevent future deterioration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovation of the 750-Seater and 1000-Seater lecture halls is expected to improve the physical outlook of Campus III while providing students and lecturers with safer, cleaner, and more comfortable learning spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
