More than 150 students of Delta State University (DELSU) Site 3 gathered at the Faculty of Management Sciences 1,000-Seater Hall on Wednesday 3rd June 2026 for a Creative Summit aimed at equipping them with practical knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and content creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0The summit, themed \u201cAI x Content Creation,\u201d was organized by the Students\u2019 Union Government (SUG) Directorate of Information and attracted students, SUG officials, business executives, and technology enthusiasts from across Site 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with this reporter the SUG Director of Information and summit organizer, **Comr. Oloruntobi Oluwabusayo**, said the programme was designed to help students understand the opportunities available in content creation and the growing role of AI in today’s digital world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, many students still have misconceptions about content creation and often fail to recognize its potential as a source of income and career development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cContent creation is a gold mine. Many students feel it is not for them, while others believe they do not have the skills to succeed. This summit was organized to show them that opportunities exist and to provide guidance on how to get started,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing concerns about AI replacing human workers, Oluwabusayo stressed that AI should be viewed as a tool for improving productivity rather than a threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHumans created AI. It is meant to solve problems and make work easier. The challenge comes when people rely completely on AI instead of using it wisely,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event host, Miss Damilola, A DELSU graduate and former SUG Director of Welfare, said the summit sought to expose students to opportunities within the digital economy, especially at a time when employment opportunities are becoming increasingly competitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want students to improve their content creation skills and explore opportunities that can help them earn income and build careers while still in school,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the guest speakers, Adebayo Ajayi, Chief Executive Officer of Webbiit Technologies Limited, encouraged students to embrace technological advancement and remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAI is changing how people work and create content. Students who learn how to use these tools effectively will have an advantage in the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A panel discussion featuring content creators Joseph Bassey and Success Ifythony also highlighted the importance of creativity in the age of AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The panelists agreed that while AI can improve efficiency, originality and storytelling remain essential qualities for successful content creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAI helps creators become better. It is not here to replace human creativity,\u201dIfythony said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit also featured an interactive Kahoot quiz competition, during which three students received cash prizes for their performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of the event was the presentation of a scholarship award to Godswill Chukwueze, a 100-level Computer Science student, who emerged as the overall winner and received a three-month web development training scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who attended the summit described the programme as informative and beneficial. A 200-level Biochemistry student,\u00a0Jane Okafor, said the event helped her gain a better understanding of AI and its applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBefore attending the summit, I believed AI would eventually replace many jobs. The speakers helped me understand that it can actually be used to improve productivity and create opportunities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Creative Summit concluded with a call on DELSU Site 3 students to embrace innovation, develop digital skills, and take advantage of opportunities within the content creation and technology sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event further highlighted the growing interest in AI and digital entrepreneurship among students at DELSU Site 3, where discussions on technology-driven careers continue to gain momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
