He said many students visit the university health centre for malaria treatment because they are frequently exposed to mosquitoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged students to keep their surroundings clean and observe proper hygiene to prevent mosquito breeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 100-Level student, Rachel Ebiyemi, said malaria is the illness she suffers from most often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to her, she usually notices a sore at the corner of her mouth before malaria symptoms begin, adding that mosquito bites are the major cause of her repeated infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Ovie encouraged members of the university community to adopt preventive measures by maintaining clean surroundings and protecting themselves against mosquito bites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Eunice Ozoemelem The Delta State University (DELSU) Health Centre has advised students to maintain good environmental and personal hygiene to reduce the spread of malaria on campus.
