While the EFCC has maintained that its operations are intelligence-driven and aimed at tackling financial crimes, many students expressed concern that some of those arrested are final-year students whose academic programmes could be disrupted if investigations are prolonged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking with this reporter, <strong>Ovie<\/strong>, a 400-level student, said the incident has left many students worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>Everyone wants cybercrime to be tackled, but I hope innocent students are not made to suffer. Some of those reportedly arrested are in their final year, and examinations are just around the corner. Missing exams could affect their graduation.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another student, <strong>Ella<\/strong>, a 200-level student, described the raid as disturbing and appealed for fairness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>The authorities should thoroughly investigate every case. If anyone is found guilty, the law should take its course, but those who are innocent should be released quickly so they can continue with their studies.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident has generated mixed reactions within the university community. While some students support efforts to curb cybercrime, others have called on security agencies to ensure that investigations are conducted professionally and that the rights of those arrested are respected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As examinations draw closer, many students hope that investigations involving anyone who may have been wrongly arrested will be concluded promptly to prevent unnecessary disruption to their academic progress.
