{"id":2441,"date":"2026-07-28T09:21:53","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T08:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=2441"},"modified":"2026-07-29T06:30:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T05:30:14","slug":"abraka-high-court-jails-man-12-years-over-sexual-assault-of-minor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=2441","title":{"rendered":"Court Jails Man For 12 Years Over Sexual Assault of Minor."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Emmanuel Idogho<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Delta State High Court in Abraka has convicted and sentenced a 41-year-old man to 12 years behind bars for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The court heard that in March 2024, the defendant, Ernest Okporu, lured his landlord\u2019s daughter in Osubi, Okpe LGA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He asked her to get a charger from his apartment. When she entered, he grabbed her, tied her hands, and assaulted her.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case went to trial at the Delta State High Court, Abraka Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 5, 2026, Justice S.I.
