Although these apartments are often slightly cheaper, many residents complain that the cost of daily transportation outweighs any savings on rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students living far from the university said they spend considerable time commuting to lectures and other academic activities. Many reported arriving late for morning classes because of traffic congestion, poor road conditions, and unreliable commercial transportation. Others noted that returning home after evening lectures has become a major safety concern, particularly during the rainy season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parents and guardians have also expressed concern over the growing financial burden. In addition to paying tuition fees and rent, they now provide extra funds for transportation and other living expenses, making it increasingly difficult to support their children through school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some residents believe the accommodation shortage has also contributed to overcrowding in the few affordable hostels located close to the university. In some cases, students share rooms with multiple occupants to reduce costs, resulting in limited privacy and uncomfortable living conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Housing experts have urged both private investors and government authorities to encourage the development of affordable student hostels around higher institutions. They argue that increased investment in quality accommodation would reduce pressure on existing facilities and improve students&#8217; welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Community leaders have also called for better road infrastructure, improved street lighting, and enhanced security in residential areas surrounding the university.
