we are correcting it.

“When we correct it with love and understanding, it will benefit the church, the community and the school environment,” Pastor Emiloju said.

He said the church corrects such behaviour through biblical teaching, counselling and guidance instead of condemning people.

He added that when people are corrected with love, they are more likely to change and become better individuals.

Pastor Emiloju also said some churches fail to speak against indecent dressing because they are afraid of losing members.

He stressed that churches should always stand for the truth and teach members the right way to live.

He identified peer pressure and wrong associations as some of the major reasons why many students engage in indecent dressing.

He advised students to choose their friends carefully and avoid following bad examples.

The pastor said moral values such as honesty, discipline, respect, integrity and self-control are important because they help students become responsible adults and future leaders.

He added that education is not only about getting good grades but also about building good character.

Pastor Emiloju said Living Faith Church regularly organises youth programmes, seminars and counselling sessions to teach young people moral values and help them grow spiritually.

According to him, about 137 students take part in the church’s youth programmes and seminars.

He also said the church organises special seminars during the Valentine’s season to teach young people about healthy relationships based on Christian values.

He added that more youth seminars would be organised after the examination period.

Pastor Emiloju further said the church is planning to introduce a Food Bank programme to support people in need within the community.

He explained that the programme is part of the church’s effort to show love and care to people through practical service.

He advised students to accept correction whenever they make mistakes instead of seeing it as punishment.

According to him, accepting correction helps young people become responsible citizens and better leaders in the future.

Pastor Emiloju called on parents, schools and religious organisations to work together in raising young people with good moral values.

He said the responsibility of building good character should not be left to the church alone.

He expressed hope that students would continue to uphold good moral values and become positive examples in their schools and communities.

He urged them to remain focused on their studies, respect others and make wise decisions that would bring honour to themselves, their families and society.

By Bella Emakpor The Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Ekrejeta Branch, Abraka, Pastor Dr Yinka Emiloju, has called on students to uphold good moral values and avoid negative peer pressure, saying that indecent dressing is one of the major moral challenges affecting many young people today.
