Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, recently organized a digital skills training programme aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging digital tools needed in today\u2019s world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme, which was held at the 1000 Seaters Hall, Faculty of Management Sciences, Site III of the university, brought together students from different faculties who were eager to expand their technological knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training formed part of the university\u2019s efforts to promote innovation, digital literacy, and technological advancement among undergraduates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were exposed to various aspects of Artificial Intelligence, content creation, cybersecurity, and the effective use of digital tools for academic and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the programme, Ajayi Adebayo, founder of Webbiit Technologies and one of the facilitators at the Creative Summit 2026, emphasized the need for students to embrace technological innovations and acquire relevant digital skills before graduation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that Artificial Intelligence has become an important tool across different sectors and urged students to make proper use of it in solving problems, conducting research, and improving productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, students who invest time in learning digital skills will be better prepared for opportunities in today\u2019s competitive labour market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further explained that technology continues to shape the future of education, business, healthcare, and communication, making digital competence a necessity rather than a choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants at the training were introduced to the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence tools and were encouraged to avoid engaging in unethical academic practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitators stressed that AI should complement learning by assisting students in brainstorming ideas, conducting research, and enhancing creativity without replacing independent thinking and academic integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme also featured sessions on content creation and the effective use of digital platforms for communication and entrepreneurship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students learned how technological tools can be leveraged to create economic opportunities and improve their productivity both within and outside the university environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking with some participants after the programme, many described the training as enlightening and timely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They expressed appreciation to the organizers for providing them with practical knowledge that extends beyond the classroom and appealed for similar programmes to be organized regularly across the various campuses of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the participants noted that the training had changed his perception of Artificial Intelligence, adding that he now understands that AI is not only useful for academic purposes but can also be applied in solving real-life problems and creating employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers disclosed that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to equip students with the skills required to succeed in an increasingly digital society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They assured participants that more technology-driven programmes would be introduced to encourage innovation and digital inclusion among undergraduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The successful conduct of the programme is expected to further strengthen students\u2019 interest in technology and inspire them to explore the numerous opportunities available in the digital space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
