{"id":3155,"date":"2026-08-08T07:57:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T06:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=3155"},"modified":"2026-08-08T07:57:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T06:57:16","slug":"sug-student-connect-celebrates-as-it-reaches-17000-followers-thank-you-delsuites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=3155","title":{"rendered":"SUG Student Connect Celebrates As It Reaches 17,000+ Followers: Thank You DELSUITES!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Oghenerume Dedon<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SUG Student Connect Whatsapp Channel has continued to Strengthen and Grow Communication among students of DELSU recording over 17,000+ Followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During an Interview on Creative Leadership: Thinking Beyond Politics with the former SUG Director of Information 31st Assembly Comrade Yoweibo Destiny, he talked about how the primary means of communication between the students and SUG was through WhatsApp groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However disagreement often disrupted Communication, as members freely expressed opinions and made comments that sometimes leads to conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To address these challenges, the former SUG President Dr Onovughegor Augustine, himself (Comrade Yoweibo Destiny) and the SUG Union came to a conclusion and created the Whatsapp Channel, where only administrators can post updates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This development reduced unnecessary arguments and ensured that important announcements reached students without distractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although there were some little challenges at first, as the students found it not important for the creation of the channel but as time went by, they gradually embraced the new platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Official Information were posted on the channel while messages were also forwarded to various Whatsapp groups to increase awareness and reach a wider audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative has proven successful, with the StudentConnect WhatsApp channel growing from zero followers to 14,000 followers and now 17,000+ followers, making it one of the largest student information platforms in the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on the achievement, the SUG Union expressed appreciation  to DELSU students for their trust, support and active engagement, reaffirming its commitment to providing timely, accurate and reliable information to the student community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Oghenerume Dedon The SUG Student Connect Whatsapp Channel has continued to Strengthen and Grow Communication among students of DELSU recording over 17,000+ Followers.
