The anniversary celebration attracted a large crowd, particularly students of Delta State University (DELSU), who filled the venue with excitement long before the performances began.

The night kicked off with a glamorous red-carpet session, giving guests the opportunity to showcase their fashion sense before the entertainment began. Fashion was one of the highlights of the event as attendees arrived in trendy outfits that reflected the vibrant nightlife culture around the university community.

Denim emerged as the dominant style, with many women wearing denim shorts, mini skirts, bodycon dresses, crop tops, tube tops and stylish two-piece outfits in bright colours. Their looks were complemented by long braids, sleek wigs, colourful hairstyles and fashionable handbags. Male guests embraced contemporary streetwear, appearing in oversized T-shirts, jerseys, graphic shirts, jeans, sneakers and baseball caps, adding to the youthful atmosphere of the event.

READ ALSO: Students Express Worries Over Worsening Insecurity Ahead Of 2027 Polls

Early bird tickets were sold for ₦4,000, while regular tickets purchased at the gate cost ₦8,000. As the venue filled up, the resident DJ entertained guests with a blend of Afropiano, Amapiano and Afrobeats, creating an energetic atmosphere that kept partygoers dancing throughout the night.

One of the night’s major attractions was a fire performer who thrilled the audience with daring stunts by skillfully holding burning flames close to different parts of his body without sustaining visible injuries. The breathtaking performance drew loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

The celebration took an unexpected turn when a heavy downpour interrupted the festivities. While some attendees rushed to nearby shelters, many others remained on the dance floor, singing and dancing in the rain as the music continued to play. The unusual moment quickly became one of the defining highlights of the anniversary celebration.

Speaking during the event, organizer Zar encouraged the crowd not to lose their excitement, declaring, “The rain won’t stop the party.” His words were met with loud cheers as partygoers embraced the moment and continued dancing despite the weather.

READ ALSO: The Dark Side Of Isolation: Another Silent Death In Abraka

When the rain eventually stopped, even more guests arrived at the venue, and the celebration resumed with renewed energy. The DJ maintained the lively atmosphere, and the crowd danced continuously until daybreak.

Some attendees described the event as one of the most memorable parties they had attended in Abraka.

Diana, a DELSU student, said, “That was the best party ever.” Another attendee, Latifa, added, “Dancing in the rain reminded me of when I was a child. It made the night even more special.”

Following the success of the second anniversary celebration, many guests expressed excitement about future editions of the Afropiano Party. The event highlighted the growing popularity of music and fashion events in Abraka and demonstrated that neither the weather nor the late hours could dampen the spirit of celebration.

In another development, workers have begun installing fiber optic cables around Site 2 of the Campus of Delta State University, a project aimed at providing stable Wi-Fi for students and campus residents who said they have been billed for internet service that remains inactive.

According to students and hostel residents, Wi-Fi charges are included in hostel bills, but the service has been inactive for an extended period, prompting complaints from students.

By Chinso Nwadei Music lovers and fashion enthusiasts turned out in large numbers for the second anniversary of the Afropiano Party, where vibrant fashion, energetic performances and nonstop music created an unforgettable experience despite a heavy downpour.
