Hon. Marvelous Ekama, alongside some of his appointees during a courtesy visit to the VC&#8217;s office in Site 2 of the University\u2019s Abraka campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the visit, Ekama explained that the honour was in recognition of the VC\u2019s support and impact on the Okpe Students&#8217; Association during his tenure as Ukeruo-Orodje of Okpe Students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Speaker also submitted a report on the 100-level Essay Writing Competition which he recently organised for DELSU fresh students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READ ALSO: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=371\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"371\">DELSU Entrepreneurship Centre Holds Exhibition, Showcases Students\u2019 Talents<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition, which was previously limited to Okpe Kingdom Students during the speaker&#8217;s time as the Ukeruo-Orodje of Okpe Students, was expanded to accommodate all fresh students across various departments and faculties of the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winner received a \u20a6100,000 cash prize while the second and third place winners received \u20a650,000 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An anonymous sponsor also pledged school fee support for the next three best participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, who was represented by Prof. Douglason Omotor (DVC, Research and Innovation), commended the initiative, noting its contribution to academic excellence and encouraging similar programmes in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other dignitaries at the event included Prof. Vincent Efebeh, the newly appointed Dean of Students Affairs, and Dr. Onovughegor Augustine, the Special Adviser to the VC on Students&#8217; engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=128\">the Directorate of Academics of the Student Union Government (SUG) at Delta State University, Abraka has successfully hosted its highly anticipated \u201cCGPA Recovery Initiative.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The academic intervention seminar, which drew an impressive turnout of student stakeholders from various faculties, took place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the SUG Secretariat, locate at Site 3 of the university\u2019s Abraka campus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emmanuel Odogun The leadership of the Students\u2019 Representatives Council (SRC) at Delta State University, Abraka has presented an excellence award to the institution\u2019s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Asagba.
