Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has organised a two-day Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training programme for academic and administrative heads as part of efforts to improve efficiency in the management of academic records and staff appraisal processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training, which took place on June 4 and 5, 2026, at the Digital Centre, Site II, was organised by the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and approved by the university management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme brought together Heads of Departments, Heads of Units, and their representatives from various sections of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were trained on the upgraded Result Engine and the newly introduced Staff Appraisal System, both designed to improve the university’s digital operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to statement contained in a university bulletin, the training was aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively use the digital platforms in carrying out their official responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the organisers, the upgraded Result Engine is expected to enhance the processing and management of students’ results, while the Staff Appraisal System will provide a more efficient and transparent approach to staff performance evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were encouraged to actively engage in the training sessions and familiarize themselves with the new systems to ensure smooth implementation across departments and units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative forms part of DELSU’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and improved service delivery within the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University officials expressed optimism that the training would contribute significantly to administrative effectiveness and the overall development of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme concluded with a call on participants to apply the knowledge gained during the training in their respective offices to support the university’s drive toward a more technology-driven academic environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Delta State University (DELSU) Comrade Community has announced plans to honour the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Asagba, with its prestigious Grand Patron Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, commitment to students\u2019 welfare and remarkable contributions to the growth and transformation of the institution.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The honour will be conferred during the community\u2019s upcoming event titled \u201cA Journey to Odyssey: The Hallmark of a Comrade,\u201d a gathering expected to attract student leaders, comrades, academic staff, university administrators and members of the DELSU community to celebrate excellence in leadership, service, activism and institutional development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
