The Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, has highlighted the achievements of his administration while encouraging young people to become more actively involved in governance and community development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during an interview in Abraka, Ogedegbe said his administration has recorded notable progress in road maintenance, environmental sanitation, and community engagement despite the challenges facing local government administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the chairman, governance is a continuous process that requires consistent effort and improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that one of the major accomplishments of his administration has been the maintenance of local roads and the promotion of regular sanitation exercises, which have contributed to easier transportation and a cleaner environment across communities in the local government area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have made significant efforts in improving local roads, promoting environmental sanitation, and strengthening our relationship with communities,\u201d Ogedegbe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have also supported youth and community development programmes aimed at improving the lives of our people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chairman acknowledged that while some residents have praised the administration\u2019s efforts, there is still more work to be done in addressing community needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the issue of youth participation in politics and governance, Ogedegbe stressed the importance of involving young people in decision-making processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He responded to concerns expressed by some youths who believe they are often excluded from governance and only hear from political leaders during election periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI understand their concerns, and I believe youth involvement is essential for the growth of our communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are opportunities for young people to participate through community meetings and engagements, but we can certainly do more to bring them closer to governance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chairman urged youths in Ethiope East to contribute ideas, attend public meetings, and participate constructively in community affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also emphasised that leadership should not be limited to election seasons, adding that his administration remains committed to engaging residents through consultations and outreach programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
