The 400 level contingent of the Department of Accounting at Delta State University , Abraka have defeated their 300 level counterparts in an exciting football match during the HOD Tournament held on 18th June 2026 at the DELSU Main football Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match attracted students from both levels who came out to support their teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both sides showed determination and commitment as they competed for victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game was filled with excitement as players displayed teamwork, skill, and passion throughout the encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the beginning of the match, both teams created opportunities and tried to take control of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accounting 300 level started strongly and put pressure on their opponents with good attacking play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Accounting 400 level also responded with strong efforts to maintain balance in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match became more interesting when goals were scored by David and Ephraim, leaving both teams level at 1-1 at the end of full time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result meant that the winner had to be decided through a penalty shootout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the match, an eyewitness, Oghenekaro, described the game as a fair and competitive encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, both teams played well and showed good sportsmanship during the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c300 level performed better during the game, but after they received a red card, the situation changed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The red card affected the performance of the 300 level team as Accounting 400 level took advantage of the situation and pushed harder to secure victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The penalty shootout brought more excitement as both teams battled to prove their strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the penalty shootout, Accounting 400 level emerged victorious with a 4-3 win over Accounting 300 level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victory brought happiness to the 400 level supporters, while the 300 level team accepted the result despite their disappointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who watched the match expressed mixed emotions after the final result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some celebrated the victory, while others praised the efforts of both teams for putting up an entertaining performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oghenekaro also highlighted the importance of sporting activities among students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that sports help to unite students, encourage teamwork, and create opportunities for students to interact outside academic activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HOD Tournament continues to provide a platform for students to display their talents and promote healthy competition within the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
