Artificial Intelligence is steadily transforming how people create content, conduct research, and deliver healthcare services, with experts describing the technology as a tool for innovation rather than a replacement for human ability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The view was shared by Success Anthony, a 300-level Computer Science student and content creator, Success Anthony, and Comr. Akpevweoghene Mukoro, Vice President of the Nigeria Pharmacology Students Association, NAPSA, during separate interviews on the growing influence of technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on AI in content creation, Anthony said the technology has become an important part of the creative process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAI is a helping hand that enables creators to work more efficiently while maintaining originality and creativity,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She advised students not to see AI as a threat, but as an opportunity to improve skills and remain relevant in a fast-changing digital world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, consistency, adaptability, and continuous learning are key to success in the technology space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthony also urged young people to embrace digital skills and innovation, adding that regular practice can improve communication abilities and strengthen one\u2019s digital presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the healthcare side, Comr. Marvellous highlighted the growing role of AI in pharmaceutical research and drug development. She explained that drug development is a lengthy and highly regulated process, from discovery through laboratory testing, clinical trials, and regulatory approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said pharmacologists serve as a bridge between scientific discovery and public health by ensuring medicines are safe, effective, and properly monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, AI is helping researchers analyze large volumes of data, predict drug behavior, and identify promising compounds for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe technology is reducing the time required for research and increasing the chances of discovering effective medicines,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite these gains, Marvellous identified challenges facing pharmaceutical research in Nigeria, including high development costs, limited funding, regulatory hurdles, and the rising problem of antibiotic resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She described antibiotic resistance as \u201ca silent storm\u201d threatening global health, warning that misuse and overuse of antibiotics have made some infections harder to treat. She also cautioned young people against self-medication, noting it can lead to wrong treatment, harmful drug interactions, addiction, and delayed diagnosis of serious illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on medical innovations, she cited personalized medicine as a major breakthrough. The approach, she explained, uses an individual\u2019s genetic makeup to tailor treatments, making them more effective while reducing side effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comr. Marvellous called for increased investment in Nigeria\u2019s pharmaceutical sector through improved infrastructure, stronger support for research institutions, and greater encouragement for local drug manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Anthony and Marvellous agreed that technology is reshaping the future, and urged students to acquire relevant digital skills to adapt to the changing landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
