Students of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, have commended the university management for the renovation and upgrading of lecture halls at Site III, describing the development as a significant step towards improving the teaching and learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovated lecture halls now have repaired and replaced seats, freshly painted walls, improved lighting, better ventilation, renovated ceilings, and other facilities aimed at enhancing students’ comfort during lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who spoke with this reporter said the renovation solved\u00a0 long standing concerns over the poor condition of the lecture halls, and has created a cleaner, safer, and more conducive environment for learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 200 level Biotechnology student, Ukoha Jennifer, described the project as a welcome development that has improved students’ academic experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The lecture halls are now more comfortable than before, students can pay better attention during lectures because the environment is cleaner and more conducive to learning, it also shows that the university management is committed to improving the quality of education,through better facilities<\/em>,” she stated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that the upgraded classrooms have encouraged more students to attend lectures regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Samson Collins, a 100 level Computer Science student, said the improved facilities have enhanced classroom interaction and made teaching more effective and efficient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He, however, appealed to the university management to provide additional chairs in the Convocation Hall and the 750 Hall C, noting that the available seating remains inadequate during lectures, examinations, seminars, and other large academic gatherings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Many students are still left standing whenever large classes are scheduled in these halls, Providing more seats will further improve the learning experience,”<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the renovation, students had complained about broken chairs, damaged ceilings, poor ventilation, inadequate lighting, overcrowding, and limited seating capacity, with some forced to stand or sit on the floor during lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many students acknowledged that the recent upgrades have addressed most of these challenges,  by providing better seating arrangements, brighter classrooms, and better ventilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While expressing appreciation for the improvements, students urged the university management to ensure regular maintenance of the renovated facilities, to prevent further deterioration, they also appealed to fellow students to use the facilities responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 400 level Biotechnology student, Aranmhunde Emmanuel, called on the university to prioritise the construction of additional laboratories and lecture halls,  to accommodate the institution’s growing student population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that existing laboratories are often overcrowded during practical sessions, and appealed for the installation of air conditioners to create a more conducive environment for laboratory work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, improved laboratory facilities would enhance practical learning, encourage research, and  prepare students for careers in science and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students expressed optimism that the university management, would continue to  invest in infrastructure projects, that promote quality education and improve campus life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
