{"id":598,"date":"2026-07-10T15:58:35","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T14:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=598"},"modified":"2026-07-10T16:47:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T15:47:14","slug":"598","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=598","title":{"rendered":"DELSU Student Drives Home Brand-New Car at MTN Pulse Campus Activation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Oghenetega Akpomiemie, <strong>Blessing\u00a0Alumona Ezinneamaka and\u00a0Miracle\u00a0Akpoyovwvayire<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Excitement filled the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Site III campus on Friday, June 19, as a 200-level Nursing Science student, Joyce Obarakpor, won a brand-new Toyota Starlet during the grand finale of the MTN Pulse Live It 100 on Campus activation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The three-day event, held from Wednesday, June 17 to Friday, June 19, 2026, brought together thousands of students for an engaging programme featuring live music performances, dance competitions, gaming challenges, talent showcases, interactive sessions, and several promotional activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the event, participants won smartphones, airtime, data bundles, and other exciting prizes before the grand prize draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A major highlight of the programme was the presentation of a brand-new car to Joyce Obarakpor, a student of the Department of Nursing, who emerged as the grand prize winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READ ALSO: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=556\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"556\">DELSU Convocation Play \u201cWrath Of The Gods\u201d Captivates Audience In Abraka<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement was greeted with cheers and celebration from students present at the venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expressing her joy after receiving the prize, Joyce thanked MTN Nigeria for the opportunity and dedicated the award to her mother, acknowledging her unwavering support and sacrifices toward her education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She described the experience as unforgettable and encouraged other students to remain hopeful and seize every opportunity available to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expressing her excitement after receiving the prize, Ogheneruno said: &#8220;I am very much excited about this prize I have achieved and I want to say a special thank you to MTN and God, and I can&#8217;t wait to tell my mum who&#8217;s going to be very excited.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during the closing ceremony, Temilolu Salako, representing MTN Nigeria, said the company remains committed to empowering young people through initiatives that inspire innovation, creativity, and academic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READ ALSO: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=410\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"410\">Vigilante Foil Hostel Robbery, Kill Suspect In Abraka<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that the campus activation was designed to reward students while creating memorable experiences beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also speaking at the event, Prof. Vincent Efebeh, representing the Vice-Chancellor of Delta State University, commended MTN Nigeria for bringing the initiative to the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said programmes of this nature enrich campus life by encouraging healthy social interaction and student participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Students\u2019 Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Kingsley Dumuje, praised MTN Nigeria for investing in students\u2019 welfare and providing opportunities that positively impact the university community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MTN Pulse Live It 100 on Campus activation at DELSU marked one of the institution\u2019s biggest student events of the semester and served as the opening stop of MTN\u2019s 2026 nationwide campus tou<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entertainment activities continued until the end of the programme, with music, games, and prize presentations keeping participants engaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MTN Pulse Campus Invasion demonstrated the role of corporate organizations in promoting student engagement and campus life.
