Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kwele Road, Abraka, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a thanksgiving service, testimonies, and renewed commitment to Christian service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The anniversary attracted members, guests, and well wishers who gathered to celebrate the church’s growth since its establishment in 2000 following a soul winning crusade, organised by the Delta Soul Winning Band of the Nigerian Baptist Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the celebration, the Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Onoriode Oghenerhor, said the church was established to address the absence of a Baptist congregation along the Police Station Road axis of Abraka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Twenty five years ago, during a crusade in Abraka, we discovered that there was no Baptist church along this area, that inspired the establishment of Emmanuel Baptist Church,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Dr. Oghenerhor said the church has recorded significant progress over the years, including the training and ordination of five pastors and seven deacons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the church has established a school and is currently developing a 4\u00bd plot property, where 10 shops and 10 self contained apartments are under construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cleric acknowledged that the church had experienced challenges during its growth, particularly during its first ordination exercise, but noted that dialogue and reconciliation helped restore unity among members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged members to remain steadfast in their faith, expressing optimism that the church would witness greater growth and divine blessings in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also speaking, the church secretary, Mr. Erateyan Oghenemine, said the church has experienced remarkable physical and spiritual development over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When I joined the church, there was no pastorium, but today, we have a pastorium and other investments. Spiritually, the church has also grown tremendously, and we are grateful to God for how far He has brought us,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A church member, Divine Ogheneweme, described the anniversary as a moment of fulfilment and thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the church’s music ministry and spiritual programmes had positively influenced his spiritual, academic, and personal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The member explained that the anniversary celebration, initially scheduled for March, was postponed following the death of a church member, Deaconess Mrs. Helen Imoniose, whose burial was held on the 6th of June, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service featured praise and worship, thanksgiving, prayers, and reflections on the church’s journey over the past 25 years, as members expressed hope for greater growth and continued service to the community.
