Entertainment activities have continued to play an important role in promoting relaxation, social interaction, and cultural expression among students of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From concerts and social gatherings to sporting events and cultural programmes, entertainment has become a major part of student life within the university community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during an interview, Miss Precious Eguwunu, a graduate of the Department of Philosophy, DELSU, and an event organiser, said entertainment activities help students connect, build relationships, and develop social confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, various entertainment programmes are organised every semester, including parties, concerts, departmental gatherings, and recreational activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese activities bring students together and allow them to interact with people from different backgrounds,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She explained that event organisation depends on the location and nature of the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Events held within the university environment are often supported by the university management and the Students\u2019 Union Government (SUG), while private organisers mainly handle events outside campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She identified activities such as SUG Week, Freshers\u2019 Welcome Parties, and departmental hangouts as examples of programmes that receive institutional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miss Eguwunu also noted that students are actively involved in organising entertainment events because many have strong interests in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said participation in social activities had helped her become more confident and develop useful connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, students benefit from entertainment programmes through networking, publicity, talent discovery, and opportunities for self-expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she identified inadequate funding, security concerns, and limited venues as major challenges facing event organisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She called for continued support to ensure that entertainment remains a positive aspect of university life<\/p>\n\n\n\n
