Tension erupted in Abraka, Delta State, after a gas vendor allegedly assaulted a fish pond worker, over the suspected theft of a gas cylinder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident reportedly occurred on June 10, 2026, at a fish farm located near Fort Marion Hostel, Campus 4 road, Abraka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to accounts, the fish pond owner, identified as Friday, had recently employed two workers after they were introduced by a friend, Pastor Gana, to assist with fish farming and sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A witness, Samuel, who said he was present during the incident, alleged that the workers had finished work for the day when the gas vendor arrived demanding the return of his gas cylinder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel said the vendor claimed he had sold the cylinder to a customer and was unable to deliver it after discovering it was missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He alleged that the vendor accused one of the workers of stealing the cylinder and physically assaulted him despite the worker denying the allegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the witness, efforts to intervene were unsuccessful as the situation became increasingly tense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel further alleged that the vendor threatened the worker with a knife while demanding a confession, he said bystanders restrained the vendor to prevent the situation from escalating further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The worker reportedly maintained that he had no knowledge of the missing cylinder despite repeated questioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fish pond owner and Pastor Gana later arrived at the scene and intervened. Witnesses said a confrontation followed before members of the public stepped in to restore order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The matter was subsequently reported to the police, with both the worker and the gas vendor taken to the station for further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of the time of filing this report, the police had not released a statement on the incident, and it remains unclear whether any arrests or charges have been made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
