{"id":798,"date":"2026-07-12T05:08:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T04:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=798"},"modified":"2026-07-12T05:08:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T04:08:22","slug":"delsu-security-police-strengthen-partnership-to-enhance-campus-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=798","title":{"rendered":"DELSU Security, Police Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Campus Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Chegwe Jessica<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Delta State University (DELSU) Security Unit has intensified its collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, to strengthen security on campus following concerns over theft, harassment and students late night movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, said the partnership has led to the introduction of 24 hour patrols, security checkpoints at major campus entrances and increased surveillance, to prevent crimes such as theft, assault and harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on the university&#8217;s security measures, Osuobeni Anita Opuere, a campus security officer, said the security unit has established a rapid response system to address emergencies on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We respond to distress calls within 10 minutes and secure affected areas until police officers arrive,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READ ALSO:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=352\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"352\">Is A Good Name Better Than Riches?
