{"id":954,"date":"2026-07-12T20:55:56","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T19:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=954"},"modified":"2026-07-12T20:55:57","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T19:55:57","slug":"delsu-sug-receives-over-70-nominations-for-2026-dinner-award-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=954","title":{"rendered":"DELSU SUG Receives Over 70 Nominations for 2026 Dinner, Award Night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Christabel Diemeta<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Students&#8217; Union Government (SUG) of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has<br>announced that more than 70 nominations have been received for its 2026 Dinner and<br>Award Night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The event, themed &#8220;The Synergy,&#8221; is designed to recognise students who have<br>distinguished themselves in leadership, entrepreneurship, sports, entertainment, content<br>creation and other areas of campus life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>According to the organisers, nominations were received across several award categories<br>ahead of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The organisers explained that winners would be selected through a combination of<br>nominations and public voting, with each vote attracting a fee of \u20a6200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READ ALSO:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=937\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"937\">Night Prayer Programmes Gain Popularity Among DELSU Students<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They added that winners in multiple categories would receive cash prizes and other<br>rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Among the nominees is Efe Ovie, the 100-level coordinator of the Department of Film and<br>Multimedia Studies, who was nominated for Most Active 100-Level Coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The National Union of Isoko Students (NUIS), DELSU Chapter, also received a<br>nomination for Best Performing Cultural Association, while its president, Comrade Okaro<br>Clinton Oghenewegba, earned nominations in the categories of Most Reserved Cultural<br>Head and Best Cultural Head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Activities lined up for the event include a red-carpet reception, dinner, live music, comedy<br>performances, dance presentations and networking sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READ ALSO:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaconversation.com\/?p=667\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"667\">Health Experts Raise Concerns Over Nigeria\u2019s Preparedness as Ebola Resurges in DRC<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">he organisers expressed optimism that the programme would promote unity and celebrate<br>excellence among students across the university&#8217;s campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Christabel Diemeta The Students&#8217; Union Government (SUG) of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, hasannounced that more than 70 nominations have been received for its 2026 Dinner andAward Night.
