More than 2,000 students, lecturers and residents converged on the Sports Complex of
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, for the 2026 edition of the DELSU Day of
Prayer, organised by Believers Loveworld Christ Embassy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The programme, held on June 7, brought together members of the university community
for a four-hour worship service focused on thanksgiving, spiritual renewal and prayers for
the institution and the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Delivering his address, the Lead Pastor and Convener of the programme, Pastor Eddy
Reign, said the event was organised to promote unity, strengthen the faith of believers and
encourage collective responsibility within the university community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


“Our desire is to influence lives positively, strengthen the faith of believers and encourage
everyone to develop a stronger prayer life,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special prayer sessions were held for the university management, the Students’ Union
Government, Delta State, Nigeria and the advancement of the Christian faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The event attracted several dignitaries, including the Vice-Chancellor of DELSU,
Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba; the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Ignatius
Nkonyasua Njoseh; SUG President Ambassador Kingsley Ovedje Dumuje; and the Delta
State Commissioner for Works, Comrade Reuben Rume Izeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Participants described the programme as spiritually uplifting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 100-level Mass Communication student, Nwanze Ifunaya Diana, said the event
demonstrated the importance of collective responsibility in addressing challenges
confronting the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


“Seeing students, lecturers and church leaders praying together reminded me that building
a better university is everyone’s responsibility,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The programme also featured worship sessions, spoken-word presentations, drama
performances addressing insecurity, multilingual Bible presentations and musical
ministrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Organisers expressed optimism that the annual programme would continue to inspire
spiritual growth, responsible leadership and positive transformation within the university
community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
