Delta Rave Party Blends Music, Masquerades, Nightlife in Abraka
By Nwadei Gift
The atmosphere at Olori 19 Arena, Abraka, Delta State, came alive on Friday, July 17, as students and party lovers gathered for the Delta Rave Party, organized by J & T Presence.
One of the major highlights of the night was the masquerade performance, which added a cultural touch to the rave. The masquerades entertained the crowd with energetic dance moves and playful interactions, drawing cheers from guests. Their appearance created an exciting blend of tradition and modern nightlife, making the event stand out from the usual student parties in Abraka.
Upcoming artists also thrilled the audience with live performances throughout the event.
Although a heavy downpour interrupted activities at some point due to the rainy season, it did not dampen the excitement. Partygoers remained at the venue, waiting for the rain to subside before returning to the dance floor. Once the music resumed, the atmosphere became even more lively as guests danced and sang along to Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, and Afro-fusion tracks mixed by the DJs.
The event attracted students from Delta State University (DELSU) and other tertiary institutions across Delta State, giving young people an opportunity to relax, connect with friends, and enjoy the vibrant nightlife Abraka is gradually becoming known for. Throughout the night, many guests captured photos and videos, sharing memorable moments on social media platforms, including TikTok.
Fashion also played a major role as attendees arrived in outfits reflecting current youth trends.
Ladies turned heads in bodycon dresses, mini dresses, cargo trousers paired with crop tops, denim outfits, and stylish two-piece sets. Many completed their looks with neatly styled braids, frontal wigs, handbags, layered necklaces, and platform heels.
The men embraced casual streetwear, rocking oversized T-shirts, cargo trousers, jeans, sneakers, face caps, and cross-body bags, giving the event a relaxed yet fashionable vibe.
The Delta Rave Party successfully combined music, culture, fashion, and entertainment, leaving attendees with an unforgettable nightlife experience while further highlighting Abraka’s growing entertainment scene.

The lecture was titled, “DELSU and the Burden of Expectation: The Challenges of Being Delta State’s Premier University and Rethinking Governance for Sustainable Excellence.”

Tension As GLK, Okada Collide In Abraka
By God’stime Oyeh
An accident involving a GLK 350 and a commercial motorcyclist happened around 11:30 a.m., reportedly after a case of wrong-lane driving.
According to eyewitnesses, the motorcyclist, popularly known as an “Aboki” bikeman, was coming from the Campus 2 area when he was allegedly hit by the GLK 350 car.
The little damage to the car caused some tension at the scene as both parties tried to explain what happened.
Eyewitnesses said the motorcyclist seemed to be at a disadvantage during the confrontation with the car driver- who was clearly trying to oppress the motorcyclist which led vigilantes and other bystanders to step in and calm things down before it got out of hand.
Things reportedly got more heated when some area boys arrived and tried to help settle the issue. The GLK 350 driver defended himself and shared his version of events, but some witnesses felt his explanation didn’t quite match what they saw happen.
As arguments continued and tempers rose, and with the car driver still wanting to oppress the motorcyclist, the Vigilantes took it upon themselves to caution him since he wasn’t trying to make peace…the matter was eventually taken to the police station for proper investigation and resolution.
