For many residents of Abraka, the weekend revival programme organized by Grace of God Ministry was more than just a religious gathering. It was a moment of spiritual reflection, encouragement, fellowship, and renewed hope amid the social and economic challenges confronting many Nigerians today.

The programme, held at the church auditorium in Abraka, attracted hundreds of worshippers from different walks of life. Students, traders, artisans, civil servants, community leaders, youths, women groups, and elderly residents gathered to participate in what church leaders described as a special season of spiritual renewal and revival.

Long before the official commencement of the programme, worshippers could be seen arriving at the venue. Some came individually while others arrived in groups. According to him, many people are currently facing numerous challenges, including unemployment, rising living costs, insecurity, family difficulties, and emotional stress. He stated that these realities have left many individuals discouraged and uncertain about the future.

“Many people are struggling silently. Some have lost hope because of their circumstances. This programme is designed to remind them that there is still hope. We want people to understand that difficult situations do not last forever and that faith can help them overcome obstacles,” he said.

Pastor Efe noted that religion continues to play a significant role in society by providing moral guidance and emotional support to individuals and families.

He explained that churches often serve as places where people find encouragement, comfort, and practical assistance during difficult periods of their lives.

According to him, Grace of God Ministry has consistently organized programmes aimed at addressing both spiritual and social needs within the community.

“We do not only preach on Sundays. Throughout the year, we organize outreach programmes, youth conferences, seminars, counseling sessions, and welfare initiatives designed to support members of the community,” he explained.

The pastor further stated that the church regularly provides assistance to widows, orphans, and financially disadvantaged individuals through various welfare projects.

One of them, Miss Esther Akpobome, said she attended because she wanted spiritual encouragement as she prepared for her academic activities.

“As students, we face different challenges, including academic pressure and concerns about the future. Programmes like this help us remain focused and motivated,” she explained.

Another student, Mr. Michael Edewor, expressed similar views.

According to him, the teachings on discipline, integrity, and hard work were particularly relevant to young people.

“The pastor spoke about avoiding negative influences and focusing on personal development. I believe many young people need to hear such messages because they address issues affecting our generation,” he said.

The revival programme also included special sessions dedicated to youth empowerment and leadership development.

During these sessions, speakers discussed topics such as education, entrepreneurship, character formation, and responsible citizenship.

Chief Emmanuel Oghene, a community leader, described religious organizations as important partners in community development.
